
Dewey Huang is a Chinese songwriter, music producer, arranger, and guitarist based in New York City. Inspired by classic jazz and modern Neo-soul/R&B, Dewey has developed a signature style combining musical sophistication with soulful groove.
Graduated with a master’s degree from New York University's prestigious Songwriting Program(MM 25’), he has been honing his craft under the mentorship of renowned songwriter-producers Phil Galdston(Celine Dion) and Barry Eastmond(Diana Ross, Billy Ocean). He has received a Scholar Award from the Songwriting Hall of Fame and was named one of the 11 recipients of the 2024 Johnny Mercer Songwriting Intensive.

Since September 2024, Dewey has released 5 singles, including two original Bossa Nova tracks, 'Coffee Roaster' and 'Things Only I Know', blending jazz complexity with pop music storytelling and hooks, growing an audience of engaged listeners.
In May 2025, as a featured artist in NYU's International Student Incubator program, Dewey presented his Mandarin Bossa Nova Project in the program's showcase at La Mama ETC with a 10-piece jazz band including a string quartet, astonishing the audience with his multi-faceted talent as the songwriter, arranger, and conductor, and his ability to blend the Brazillian genre with his cultural roots.

As an arranger, Dewey has been working with the Paola Cruz Band(with a 4-part horn section) as the band leader and guitarist in the last two years, arranging over 70 scores. He has worked with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra on his Mandarin Bossa Nova Project. Dewey has performed at some of New York's most iconic venues, including The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, and Green Room 42.
