Dewey Huang

Dewey Huang is a New York City–based producer, songwriter, arranger, guitarist, and music educator whose work spans contemporary R&B, neo-soul, jazz, and Bossa Nova. Grounded in groove, thoughtful harmony, and musical restraint, he helps artists shape their songs in the studio and onstage. His own music explores Bossa Nova through a personal, cross-cultural lens, including original songs in Mandarin.

Dewey holds a Master of Music in Composition & Songwriting from NYU Steinhardt, where he studied privately with songwriter and producer Barry Eastmond. He is a recipient of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Scholar Award and participated in the 2024 Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriting Intensive.

His work encompasses record production, songwriting, ensemble arranging, and music direction. He has presented music at La MaMa, Nublu, The Bitter End, House of Blues Boston, and The Green Room 42, and has been a featured artist at Ray Angry’s Producer Mondays. In September 2026, he performed as Omesi’s guitarist on a three-show Northeast run opening for Infinity Song. Alongside his independent projects, he works in recording and production assistance at SuperLegal Studio with renowned percussionist Mauro Refosco (Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Byrne, Bebel Gilberto).

As an educator, Dewey connects practical production skills with songwriting, arrangement, and musicianship. He teaches at Sound Collective in Manhattan and provides private instruction in piano, guitar, and music theory. His teaching emphasizes hands-on exploration, attentive listening, and helping students develop the tools to realize their own musical ideas.
